The often cited responsibility of the real estate industry for 40% of the world\u2019s CO2 emissions gives reason to think about reduction potentials on all political and economic levels \u2013 and how to achieve them. In any case, there is agreement that political decisions must be based on reliable information about the energy status of buildings.Real estate data, including data on the energy status of buildings, is available in large quantities. However, their use faces the following problems:<br \/>\n\u2013 Decentrality \u2013 Where can I find information?<br \/>\n\u2013 Originality \u2013 Is the information correct?<br \/>\n\u2013 Timeliness \u2013 Is the information up-to-date?<br \/>\n\u2013 Allocation \u2013 Who is entitled to the information?<br \/>\n\u2013 Accessibility \u2013 How do I get access to a piece of information?<br \/>\n\u2013 Transferability \u2013 How can I receive or pass on information?<\/p>\n<p>Up to now, most solutions have been of a centralized nature, i.e., attempts have been made \u2013 and are still being made \u2013 to collect and analyze large amounts of data on central storage devices.
